del-i-cious!

Released this week was the new 'delicious.' magazine. A double issue for December09/Janurary 10, with some gorgeous menus and recipes for the holiday season. Very Australian and very fresh.

Of particular interest is a feature on Noosa food and restaurants. Compiled by Matt Preston (what a fabulous occupation he has!), there are a few of my favourites... Bistro C, Aromas, and Fratellini's. But I was so pleased to see Damian and Lucy's 'Mooshka' featured as well. As a relative newcomer to Sunshine Beach, Matt writes "this could be our favourite funky cafe in the area." Well done guys! Good for you.
What a very lucky girl I am to live so close to all these fabulous spots to eat... yum.

friday finds - episode thirty.nine + giveaway

Please let me introduce you all to my new assistant. She is confident, feminine and very classy. Here she is modeling a lovely 1960's pegnoir set in pink and lace. Her name? Well that is the conundrum....
so read on...
She will be helping out in the on-line store modeling lingerie and sleepwear pieces, plus attending the beach markets with me to show off our new tanks. But I need to give her a name.

To celebrate our newest member of the team, and since it is THANKSGIVING time... we have a giveaway;

Please leave us YOUR suggestion of her name here as a comment. Next week (Friday) I will select the best name from the list and the clever person will receive a gift from us here at perpetual3. Perhaps a vintage apron, or a cute pair of white 1980's sunglasses, or one of our new tanks made to your size.... check back here for our post of prizes.

tuesday cheer

This week another treat in the post. My first 'etsy swap' from France arrived on Tuesday! The lovely Mathilde has an etsy shop based in Paris, and we selected some things from each others collections and posted them last week. Mine arrived so quickly. Thank-you M.

Holiday cheer

Today our new range of vintage inspired tanks are in the shop. Assembled with love using french striped ribbon, cotton broderie anglaise trim and vintage doilies, they are modern and just a little bit pretty. Great holiday gift idea for a girl friend or niece. Pair with skinny jeans or a black high-waisted skirt.
The white ruffles remind me of angels. The delicate doilies are my snowflakes.

Happy Holidays are nearly here...

friday finds - episode thirty.eight

... Fashionably late friday find (I know)... But stunning nonetheless. I am sure you will agree. Stationary enthusiasts beware.

In my trail to locate some stockists of quality grosgrain ribbons I wandered off onto a side track and into the path of the captivating 'o-check designs'. A Korean-based stationary and lifestyle company with a range of beauties that speak for themselves.

This explanation of the name...

The name ‘O-Check’ is derived from the Korean word ‘gongcheck’ which translated literally means ‘a book with nothing inside’. Substituting a zero for the word ‘gong’ O-Check captured the essence of its notebooks which upon creation are empty, but come alive when filled with words, thoughts, feelings and drawings.

... together with the images of the product had me hooked. Now I just need to work out how to order on-line, or with the help of (also brilliant) telegram paper goods, track down their stockists in Australia.

Be sure to look at their beautiful (free) 'wallpaper' downloads here.

this week in the workroom...

More collecting, assembling, sewing and stitching here for our next market - the last before Christmas! More singlets finished with ruffles and bow ties, plus others with crochet doilies. Today I locked myself away from the ghastly heat outside my room (on days like today, I love my 1980's A/C unit)... and got to work.

Of all the steps involved, I find myself looking forward to completing the hand embroidery. I only do simple stitches, as this is the look I want, but it is quite a rewarding little activity. Adds a little hand-sewn character to a project.

More pics coming soon.

friday finds - episode thirty.seven

THE find this week. A most beautiful vintage hand-sewn apron in red gingham. Such a piece! Unearthed in piles of musty old linens. Happy now, to be out and about after a wash and a press.

Ready for some baking I feel!

words to stir... breathe again... for now

You may remember my post about the mary river. Well now the decision has finally been 'proposed'.

Mr Garrett says No.
No Dam.

The beautiful river and it's residents can breathe again... For now.
We will wait and see what our State Government is not saying. What they are going to do with all that land...

tuesday cheer

Today in my post box. A parcel with some cheerful contents courtesy
of my good friend Ms K over at {oldyarns}.
A very thoughtful 'thank-you' gift.

Pull the ropes.
Unfurl the sails.
String them high.

Light at Eventide. Sailing boats on water.

Find yours {here}.

colour

Today some inspiration from the garden. Colour inspiration. Mauve.
Big bursts of it amongst the greenery.
Freshly watered with drops of rain.

Flowers that remind me of Nannas,
and names like Winifred, Betty and Edna.

Bunches of Hydrangeas.

Big pom poms of Agapanthus.

Jacaranda blooms which fall under the tree
into a beautiful blue carpet.

And finally, some colour coming by this way into the shop. Big bloomers.
Loose fitting and fancy free.
Good as shorts for bedtime.
No doubt, worn with grace by a few Winifred's, Betty's and Edna's.
